Seized Argentina Hunting Trophies Closer to Release

SCI has learned that Argentine authorities are about to release some of the 3,000 hunting trophies seized in exporter Logistic Solutions’ warehouse during a raid in August 2024.

SCI’s Hunter Information Service reported previously on the multi-agency sting operation in Argentina that targeted one hunting operator and the country’s main trophy exporter. (See page 3 of the July 2025 Safari Times.) Trophies from numerous other hunting operators awaiting export were swept up in that action simply because they were in the exporter’s warehouse when the raid took place. For over a year now, those outfitters have been working to get their clients’ trophies released. It appears that is finally going to happen.

Algar Safaris, Catena Safaris Argentina and Tipi Liuke Lodge have all been informed that the federal prosecutor has recommended the court release their clients’ trophies. The next step required is for the court to issue that order.

All of the seized trophies have been kept at the warehouse under government seal since August 2024. Algar Safaris, and several other outfitters, filed petitions for the release of their clients’ trophies and provided documentation to the federal prosecutor proving their trophies were taken legally. All of them were allowed into the warehouse to locate their clients’ trophies and set them aside for later release.

The federal prosecutor has begun allowing other outfitters who filed petitions to locate their clients’ trophies in the warehouse as well. The latest authorized to do so is North Patagonia Lodge. Others are sure to follow now that a procedure has been established.

Hunters whose trophies are stuck in Argentina should contact their hunting operator for an update on their efforts. SCI members may also contact the Hunter Information Service to be placed on a contact list for updates. Email [email protected]
