Safari Club International (SCI) is proud to support the introduction of the Trillion Trees Act (TTA) by House Natural Resource Committee Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (R-AR-04). This bipartisan bill, if made law, will help remove significant amounts of carbon from the atmosphere by restoring and growing more than one trillion trees across the globe.
The Trillion Trees Act incorporates three central strategies that will build a better planet and benefit earth’s wildlife populations:
- Reforestation: These efforts will increase the amount of atmospheric carbon sustainably captured in domestic forests, address the domestic seedlings shortage by increasing nursery capacities, and incentivize job creation in urban forestry with new grant programs.
- Forest management: Will protect wildlife by streamlining the review process for critical environmental infrastructure such as watersheds and wildlife habitat restoration projects on federal land.
- Innovative utilization: New grant funding for the development of revolutionary carbon trapping process known as biochar will accompany new research funding for environmentally safe bioplastics and biochemicals.

If signed into law, this bipartisan legislation would protect our forests, the wildlife who inhabit them, and propose a new way for the U.S. to help reduce harmful carbon emissions,” said SCI CEO W.
