SCI attended and participated in the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation’s (CIC) 69th General Assembly in Paris, France. The event was hosted by CIC’s French delegation. SCI was represented by Ben Cassidy and SCI European Liaison Juan Magaz.
The theme of the conference was Biodiversity 2030 which was discussed throughout two days of speeches, presentations and panels. The theme was in reaction to the Biodiversity 2030 framework introduced at the 2022 Convention on Biodiversity in Montreal.
Shane Mahoney of Conservation Visions was the GA’s keynote speaker. His speech focused on threats coming from everywhere, efforts to improve communicating by the hunting community, hunting’s diminishing social license, and the need to message hunting through food security.
