The African Liaison represents SCI to all African governmental entities, hunting organizations and/or associations, special governmental committees, task forces related to hunting, wildlife conservation or other areas of interest to SCI. The African Liaison engages government officials, membership, any hunting organizations or associations on actions or issue which may affect hunters or hunting including importation and transportation of firearms, trophy animal import or export restrictions or bans, licensing or permit issues or any other interests in hunting or wildlife conservation. The African Liaison position shall serve as the communications conduit to SCI from all potentially affected interests in Africa increasing the footprint of SCI in Africa and supporting rural areas and community leadership.   When warranted and practical, assist SCI members with logistical problems encountered with permitting, firearms transportation, travel or contractual issues while hunting in Africa. The Liaison informs and educates all members of the African government, organizations, or associations as to the benefits of SCI advocacy, legislative and litigative, membership in SCI, SCI record book and encourages attendance and participation in the SCI International Hunters Convention.

The African Liaison informs all potentially affected interests as to the successful Hunter Advocacy, Conservation, and other meaningful and pertinent programs the Club accomplishes. The Liaison will report on the activities of the Club and be an advocate and spokesman for SCI. The Liaison will be actively engaged in the African Wildlife Consultative Forum and CITES issues as appropriate and is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with all potentially affected interests and will coordinate any special SCI workshops such as measuring instruction courses or membership events. The Liaison position will work closely with other SCI and SCIF employees engaged in African or other worldwide issues.

Ad Sales - Publications

This position is responsible for soliciting advertising for SCI publications, assisting advertisers in preparing advertising materials, and billing for advertising sold. Publications are the official word and voice of SCI/SCIF. The publications are the only mechanism within the organizations that reach every single member every single issue. Work is driven by production deadlines.  Publications staff routinely interact with as many as 100 advertising clients per month. Incumbents also interact with employees at all levels of the organization, and other corporate partners worldwide.

The San Antonio Chief Operations Officer (COO) oversees the management and day-to-day operations of SCI’s revenue generating business activities. The business activity oversight includes, but may not be limited to, Membership, Record Book, and Publications. The COO ensures that these departments function as team of co-aligned, partnering stakeholders, working towards the overall health of the organization’s revenue streams. In addition, the COO ensures that business operations are run effectively and efficiently while the needs of business clients and the members are prioritized and managed successfully. The COO must monitor existing business programs and practices for effectiveness, strategize to improve efficiency, and seek new sources of revenue for increased profitability. The COO will assist in the development of strategies and implementation of plans to improve all aspects of business operations.

This position is responsible for all marketing and communications functions within SCI.  Incumbent will oversee all internal and external communications and is responsible for communications in all media, print and digital. Oversees the online SCI store and other SCI e-commerce initiatives to enhance and maximize revenue production.

This position is responsible for facilities management, shipping and receiving, inventory, warehouse management, and product fulfillment. Prepares, packages and ships of all letters and packages in the most efficient and cost-effective manner in accordance with all UPS, DHL, USPS and other regulations.

Ensures shipping deadlines are met. Assists with the moving of furniture, office equipment, and large boxes or objects on-site. Responsible for delivery and retrieval of items from storage and warehouse. Responsible for being point of contact for vendors on all things related to the facility.

The Government Affairs Coordinator will work directly with the Government Affairs team to assist with SCI’s advocacy efforts by tracking and monitoring legislative action and delivering high-quality digital, print and social media communication services. This position will assist with the execution of events, meetings, projects, and provide proactive and reactive strategies in coordination with all SCI Departments.

This position will also perform a variety of administrative functions for the operations in Safari Club International’s DC office. Candidates must be able to handle the functions of organizing and administering the day-to-day operations of a government affairs office and must be able to handle the arrangement of business and social events both within and outside the office.
