Senate Hearing on Migration Corridors
On Tuesday, November 14, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Fisheries, Water and Wildlife held a hearing titled “Challenges and Opportunities to Facilitate Wildlife Movement and Improve Migration Corridors.” Testifying before the committee were:
- Charlton “Chuck” Bonham, Director – California Department of Fish and Wildlife
- Madeleine West, Director – Center for Public Lands, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership
- Richard King, Chief Game Warden – Wyoming Game and Fish Department
SCI thanks the Committee for holding this hearing and allowing an opportunity for public discussion on migratory corridor program, public/private access and funding collaboration, habitat conservation, and more. Watch the full hearing HERE.
Additionally, SCI joined 26 other hunting and conservation organizations in a letter to the White House Council on Environmental Quality and Office of Management and Budget supporting funding efforts for wildlife migration corridors and seasonal ranges, particularly for big game species.
